A plan to build a website for ASU TEC, worked out
For two days of training for
Web Development, chaired by Dr. Roberto L. Saladar – VP for Research and
Extension, the Aklan State University will have its webpage and web site per
campus envisioned to be implemented.
The training had been made on Aug.
27-28, this year at ASU, College of Industrial Technology, Kalibo, Aklan.
Graced by the CIT’s Executive Director, Prof. Loneto Berlandino, the activity
was held possible.
All ICT professionals of ASU were
invited. Majority of them came from CIT.
For Teacher Education Center’s
representative, Joeblas S. Diaz, ICT Instructor of ASU TEC, was sent to the
training. He will be in charge for the creation and development of web site for
the center.
The training has chosen Joomla as
the environment where the webpage will be made because Joomla is open source.
Open source is a software distributed for free. Since ASU is an advocate of
open source, such as Linux, thus the software was opted ideal.
On the course of training, the
participants are given the chance to create a sample web pages, layout and
design it, put some contents and have it presented.
The training ended Aug. 28, 5PM with
a note "the training is a start for improving the site of Aklan State University,”
Dr. Saladar said.
